Thatcher - The Musical

12.08.00pm GMT Thu 8th Feb 2007

Last night Caroline, Tracey, Dave and I all went to see Thatcher - The Musical at the Grand Theatre from the local theatre company (Foursight Theatre Ltd). It was an excellent production covering virtually all the highlights (should that be lowlights?) of the Thatcher years along with some oddly-catching songs!

It is easy to forget how close Thatcher came to losing after the first term with just the Falklands War saving her and delivery a landslide victory. There were also lots of funny points such as Thatcher (the older) spitting every time the word socialism was mentioned and a couple of bits of advice to Tony Blair such as how to win a war!

There was also a bit of participation and I thought Tracey was going to have a fight with Thatcher (c.87) when she admitted to being a Liberal.
