The Leader of the House of Commons has published his proposals for House of Lords Reform. He suggests that 50% should be elected for 15 year terms, a third at a time every five years; 30% should be appointed by party leaders and 20% should be appointed by the Independent Appointments Commission. But here's an different idea - lets elect the whole and have a democratically elected chamber!

Surely if we believe in a democracy we should be looking to elect all those who have a say in making our laws. Just a thought.
