Nelson Chamisa, a MDC (Movement for Democratic Change) MP was beaten unconscious yesterday at Harare airport. He was due to fly to Brussels to attend a conference. Doctors fear that he may lose an eye. Nelson Chamisa said of the attack "Just as I was about to enter the door of the departure area, eight men jumped me and began hitting me with iron bars. I just fell to the ground," he added "Nobody is safe in Zimbabwe. There is no security, no rule of law. I am praying for my country."

I see no real way forward for Zimbabwe and other African states, especially South Africa need to public condemn Mugabe.
