I am in Zagreb today at the ELDR (European Liberal Democrat Party) Council meeting. I sit on the Council as one of the eight directly elected representatives from Liberal Democrat Conference, so although it is in the middle of the local elections I made sure I could attend for the meeting (sasly not sight-seeing just meetings!)

One of the main points on the agenda, for me at least, is Russia and how we should respond to latest ruling on throwing the Liberal Party out of the elections there. Putin's Russia seems to be sliding back away from democracy, the debate will be very interesting.

I will report back from ELDR on my return.
