Fighting the BNP - How not to!

8.01.00am BST (GMT +0100) Sun 22nd Apr 2007

I have just seen on the BBC that a Liberal Democrat councillor has been suspended after nominating a BNP candidate for May's local elections. Stephen Jones, who was the Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on Darlington councillor not only signed a nomination form but signed it for some standing against himself!

I have no problem with the BNP being on the ballot paper, I would rather they were there and we can campaign against them rather than they be an underground organisation. I don't think it is the Liberal Democrats job on get them on the ballot paper though.

Where the BNP stand we should oppose them, I am very annoyed that in Wolverhampton we do not have a candidate in one of the wards they are standing in, I can confirm it was cock-up rather than any form of clever conspiracy, we were supposed to have a candidate in that ward but it didn't happen.
