I think one of the stories of this set of local elections is the Green Party, they have a record number of candidates with over a thousand across the country. Whilst I accept their (and everyone else's democratic right to stand) it does annoy me slightly when they choose not to stand everyone in a borough but seem to go out of their way to stand in areas that are good for the Liberal Democrats.

Again I understand the reason why, I think the people likely to vote Green are also likely to vote Liberal Democrat. So where we have a good vote it is likely to be some support for them, and I don't blame them, it may even be the tactic that I would use. However it will be very annoying if we lose any Councillors because of their intervention, I suspect in some places they may cost us gaining additional seats.

As a result I have put some special 'green' mailings in the download area, obviously these are only accessible to Liberal Democrats registered with this site. Unlike the BNP who I want everyone to beat I wouldn't be too unhappy if the Greens beat some Labour and Conservative candidates.
