Modbury leads the way

I read over the weekend about Modbury. Modbury is a town in the West Country, from today it became the first plastic bag-free town in Europe. All 43 traders have agreed not to sell or give away plastic bags for at least six months.

It will be very interesting to see how this experiment works, alternatives will include a corn starch paper bag, cotton bags and cloth bags. Hopefully Modbury can be an example to the rest of the country.
