Despite a visit from David Cameron the Conservatives actually did worse in this years local elections than in 2006 - losing votes in all but one ward. This is supposed to be on of their target seats for the next General Election, though I would have thought on this week's showing they are far from on course to winning it!
The Liberal Democrats on the other hand increased their vote in all but one ward and, of course, won Park Ward, we kept our second place in St. Peters. When I moved back to Wolverhampton we were second in one ward, third in five and fourth in one. Now we are first in one and second in another and third in the remainder. I am convinced that this area should be voting Liberal Democrat - it will take time but we will successfully successfull here.
