Florida part two - Disney4.19.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 27th May 2007
Okay, I was dreading Disney, but had being trying to mentally prepare. You can say what you like about Disney (and I do) but whatever they do they do it well!
There are four main parks at Disney - The Magic Kingdom, MGM Studios, Epcot and Animal Kingdom, we also visited SeaWorld whilst in the vicinity. All were different and the first three had a display at the end of the day to put the final Disney touch on it.
The Magic Kingdom is where it all begins and 'Dreams can come true'. It has some rides, including Splash Mountain which may have been the scariest ride I have ever been on - 50ft drops and lots of water! The Magic Kingdom ends with a great firework display over Cinderella's Castle.
MGM Studio is unsurprisingly movie related, one of the highlights was seeing some of the stunts and the way they film the movies - oh and meeting Sully from Monsters Inc. My favourite display was at MGM, not just fireworks but lasers, water show and lots of Mickey Mouse and whats more a storyline! Epcot was a take on the world and the future, again some rides - the top two being Sorin' and the trip to Mars. There were also little bits of a number of countries represented - ie a pub and some fish and chips for the UK. Epcot ended with fireworks, which we saw twice once on a visit and then on the evening of the wedding. Animal World was, in my opinion, awful, bit like a zoo with lots of caged animals including some very sad looking penguins. SeaWorld was a bit better but still too zoo-like for my liking.
