How the European Union can help with the UK's flooding problems1.53.27pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 24th Jul 2007
There has been a lot in the media in the last few days about why the European Union in not helping with the UK's flooding problems and clear-up. I have done some checking and there is a 3 Billion Euro threshold for applications for help from the solidarity fund, there also seems to be some issues with the floods technically being separate events. News reaches me the South East England Liberal Democrat MEP Sharon Bowles is planning to ask some questions in the European Parliament to see if the various floods can be considered as one event. Hopefully they will be able to be considered as such and monies released.
