The United Nations Security Council yesterday voted for an Anglo-French proposal to deploy a a 26,000-strong international force to Darfur. The only real question is why did it take them so long?

The fighting in Darfur started in 2003 and has resulted in over 200,000 dead, 2 million displaced and 4 million on food aid. For much of the last 4 years the world has looked on, I cannot understand why it has taken until now to act!
