Campaigning in the Brandwood by-election

6.37.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sat 1st Sep 2007

Today I was in in Brandwood in south Birmingham to campaign in the upcoming by-election there. Turnout was good and most of the ward was delivered with the second leaflet of the by-election.

The by-election polls on 20 September and whilst the Liberal Democrats are starting in third support is growing which is promising with almost three weeks to go.

It is also the first by-election in Birmingham since Gordon Brown became Prime Minister, it will be interesting to see how Labour do here - there was certainly some evidence of their campaigning in the ward today.
