Campaigning in the Abbey by-election

7.04.36pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 2nd Sep 2007

This weekend I also went over to help in the Abbey Ward (Nuneaton) by-election. The by-election like Brandwood polls on 20 September, unlike Brandwood this one is the result of the sad death of the Liberal Democrat Councillor Pete Ashby. This is the third by-election on Nuneaton and Bedworth Council this year, I am glad to have been able to help in all three.

I met with the candidate - Mish Whitmore - and did some canvassing in one of the more Labour areas of the ward (the MPs office was at the top of one of the roads). After the canvassing I met with the Campaign Manager to give a quick demonstration of how to use EARS (the software we use to record voting intentions) as they have recently obtained it.

Lots more help is needed if you can help please do - details of how to contact the team in the forthcoming events section on the navigation menu on the left.
