European Parliament adopts new position on natural disasters

The European Parliament yesterday adopted a common resolution on natural disasters. The resolution not only showed solidarity with Greek citizens affected by the terrible summer fires, but also British citizens affected by the flooding this summer.

The European Parliament accepted that climate change is not just a slogan but it is now a reality.

The resolution also demanded new regulations on solidarity funds. Under the current regulations it was difficult for the UK to apply, the new regulations should make it easier.
