Today I joined Councillors Heather Kidd, Nigel Hartin, Charles West, Phil Robinson and others to campaign to save rural schools across Shropshire. The Conservative-run County Council has decided to close twenty schools across Shropshire in a cost-cutting exercise.

We firstly went to Lydbury to highlight the issue with local residents before moving on to other areas across the Ludlow constituency. One of the real problems is closing these schools will have a knock-on effect to other services in the villages such as local shops, this along with the Labour Government's closure of more Post Offices will result in many of these villages having virtually no services at all.
