Martyn Smith

Sadly I bring the news that Sandwell Councillor Martyn Smith passed away earlier this week. My thoughts are with Martyn's wife Sadie and his family. This is a huge loss to the Liberal Democrats locally and nationally.

Martyn had been a Sandwell Liberal Democrat Councillor for nearly 30 years having been re-elected to office in May 2007.

Martyn had been suffering from a serious illness for a considerable amount of time and deteriorated over the course of the weekend. He was taken to hospital in the early hours of Monday morning and passed away peacefully later in the day.
