Wolverhampton Community Radio 2007 retrospective8.20.00pm GMT Fri 4th Jan 2008
Earlier this evening I was one of the four panelists on Wolverhampton Community Radio's 2007 retrospective. Myself, the Conservative, Labour and UKIP representatives were all asked for of three stand-out moments for 2007 and a prediction of 2008. I selected one international, one national and one local event. For my international choice I chose the pursuit and fragility of democracy highlighting Burma and Pakistan (and adding Kenya in for the recent events). My national choice was the Autumn and how we saw Cameron go from being seen as very weak suffering from coming third in two parliamentary by-elections to looking as though he could challenge for power, how we saw Brown go from Stalin to Mr Bean have allowed election speculation to build and then bottle an election and then be the victim of 'events' such as the missing data scandals and Northern Rock and of course the loss of Ming as Liberal Democrat Leader. My local choice was the Liberal Democrat breakthrough in Park Ward in Wolverhampton electing Robin Lawrence as a Councillor back in May. My prediction was that the Liberal Democrats in Wolverhampton would win additional seats this coming May.
