Lets leave Afghanistan

It is time for British troops to leave Afghanistan, I was against the invasion but have been relatively happy for our troops to be there trying to sort the mess out (unlike in Iraq).

However it seems very obvious to me that is it now time to leave, not because our troops are not doing a good job - I suspect they are. There are two main reasons I would like to see our troops leave and both revolve around President Karzai.

Firstly I am outraged that Sayed Pervez Kambaksh has been sentenced to death - his crime was to download and read an article on women's rights. He was sentenced without the opportunity to have any legal representation, the sentence has been upheld by the Afghan Senate and President Karzai has done nothing to quash the sentence. British troops should not be fighting to allow such atrocities to occur. See the petition below too!

Secondly President Karzai has gone out of his way recently to made derogative statements about the British troops suggesting they are doing more harm than good - if he really thinks that is the case then we should leave. I suspect these statements and his statements about Lord Ashdown have been political posturing for his own Afghan audience, but there is no way he should be doing this with our troops.
