President Pervez Musharraf's Pakistan Muslim League-Q party (PML-Q) has conceded defeat in the Pakistan elections. Nawaz Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League-N appear to have won the elections with Benazir Bhutto Pakistan People's Party having also performed well.

Neither the Pakistan Muslim League-N or Pakistan People's Party won an outright majority and are expected to enter power-sharing talks.
