Building Liberal Communities Conference - 14th June 2008

Saturday 14 June 2008 is the date for the second national Liberal Democrat Local Government Conference "Building Liberal Communities" at Birmingham's International Convention Centre (ICC). The event, which is jointly organised by ALDC and the Local Government Association Liberal Democrat Group, builds on the success of the first conference in 2007.

This day is a must for Liberal Democrats in local government. We already have a packed day planned:

• Parliamentary speakers include: Julia Goldsworthy MP, Chris Huhne MP, Andrew Stunell MP and Lorely Burt MP.

• Training will be provided for campaigners by ALDC and the Campaigns Department, for Councillors by ALDC and the IDeA.

• Fringe programme with partners including the Leadership Centre for Local Government.

Registration starts at only £30 for ALDC Gold Members - but this rate rises on 31 March 2008, so it pays to register early!

On Friday 13 June 2008, a number of other events are planned in Birmingham, these include a Council and Group leaders' event, and a one day conference for Black and Minority Ethnic councillors.
