London will see a big set of elections this May with elections to the GLA and also for the Mayoralty. Now whilst by-elections only give an indication rather than a complete prediction, the Liberal Democrats are doing really well - they have won five of the eight Council by-elections in London this year, the latest being in Vassall's ward in Lambeth last Thursday.

Total votes cast in London so far this year are Liberal Democrats 8,490 (42%), Labour 4,867 (24%), Conservatives 4,419 (22%).

Perhaps will we see Mayor Paddick come May!
