Campaigning in Wolverhampton

9.18.24pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 30th Mar 2008

Today has mainly been a campaigning day in Wolverhampton. I have been delivering and canvassing in both Park and St Peters wards.

We made a breakthrough in Park ward last year with Robin Lawrence beating the Labour Councillor, it is looking good for Claire Darke to win on 1 May and join Robin on the Council.

In St Peters our candidate, Zahid Shah, had been working very hard and from the limited number of people I spoke to today he looks set to get a great result. If Zahid wins it would mean we have beaten the Labour Leader of the Council which would be a fantastic result.

This Thursday we are holding a public meeting which will be addressed by Andrew Stunell, hopefully the turnout will be good.
