Yesterday was Gwyneth Dunwoody's funeral, apart from mentioning the by-election had been called (over a week before the funeral) I have not been commenting on the by-election. I will be going up to campaign this weekend.

The Liberal Democrats have selected Elizabeth Shenton who will be an excellent candidate and MP if she wins.

Labour have selected Gwyneth's daughter Tamsin Dunwoody as their candidate. I met Tamsin whilst she was a Minister in the Welsh Assembly and I worked for the RSPB - she was an excellent Minister and if she were to win (and I doubt she will) would be an excellent MP for Crewe and Nantwich.
