Well done David Davis

Shadow Home Secretary David Davis is resigning as an MP over the issue of 42 days and will fight the by-election on the issue. Whilst I have not always agreed with Davis, it is nice to see a politician standing up for his principle are resigning.

According to the BBC Davis has spoken with Nick Clegg and the Liberal Democrats will not fight the by-election, I hope this is the case. The Liberal Democrats have of course not stood before standing aside for Martin Bell on corruption and Dr. Tayor on Health Services (twice). I would say the issue for 42 days is another worthy of the Liberal Democrats supporting another candidate, in this case David Davis.

I will try and post Davis statement later.
