Lib Dems on Facebook

The Liberal Democrats have just released the new version of their Facebook application, and I wanted to let you know about some of the benefits it brings, including making it easier for people to find out about party events in your area - as long as someone has put them in to www.FlockTogether.org.uk

Easier to find our events: the "Lib Dem events" tab now not only lists major party events from Facebook but also gives you a postcode search to look up party events that are taking place near you. This pulls information from www.FlockTogether.org.uk - and so is another good reason to advertise your own events on Flock Together as they are now getting to even larger arger audience

Easier to find out what we're up to in the media: the new "Lib Dem Media" tab lists forthcoming major media appearances by our MPs and peers* it also lists a sample of the latest media coverage of Nick Clegg, including links through to the full original stories

Easier to find other Liberal Democrats on Facebook: the "Lib Dem Profiles" tab now lists now just MPs, but also and members andmembers of the Lords, Scottish Parliament, Welsh Assembly and London Assembly

The new "Lib Dem Pages" tab now brings together convenient list one convenientlist the main party-related pages from around Facebook Support for Facebook pages

If you run a Facebook page, you can now add that page application to thatpage so that you get the party's automatically displayed news and videos automaticallydisplayed on your page. The application does two things: it adds a box to your profile page (which you can configure) and you can by clicking access the other features byclicking on "Lib Dems" in the "Applications" list on the left hand side of Facebook.
