The AA - not the 4th emergency service

8.03.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 20th Jun 2008

My parents are coming up to visit this weekend, however they have had an accident on the M1. The rear tires of my parent's car had a blow-out causing them to crash into the crash barrier - they are thankfully alright (the contents of the boot however were not).

My dad has been a member of the AA since 1985, and it is not too long ago the AA were calling themselves the 4th emergency service. Well they have proved they are anything but, apparently they were not able to help as my parents crashed into the crash barrier and they don't help with crashes - despite the fact the crash was a result of a blow-out and therefore an accident.

Everyone else from other drivers to the traffic police to the garage that insurance company contacted were great - it was just the AA that let them down. Unsurprisingly they will be leaving the AA and finding a new 'emergency service'
