Thatcher's funeral

7.21.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Sun 20th Jul 2008

This week, we have seen a very distasteful discussion over a State Funeral for Margaret Thatcher when she dies.

It is not distasteful because she is not dead yet, although its a bit odd, but because so many people including a Labour MP have actually expressed some glee at the prospect of her dying. You may not like her but never wish her dead.

I actually think a State Funeral would be wrong, not because of her or anything she has done but it would set a bad precedent.
