Talking immigration

11.25.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 3rd Aug 2008

Whilst down in Folkestone, I have taken the opportunity to have a meeting with one of the Liberal Democrat National Campaigns Officers to discuss how as a party we should discuss immigration.

Immigration is an important issue and needs to be handled sensitively, it is very easy to say the wrong things without meaning too. Recently I had cause to disagree with how the Liberal Democrats were campaigning on immigration and this meeting was partly set up to work out the concerns I had. The meeting was productive and I am much more at ease with how we may tackle discussing immigration in the future.
