Kashmir seems to be on the brink again. Today Indian security forces fired into a crowd that had gathered for the funeral of Sheik Abdul Aziz a prominent Kashmiri separatist leader who was shot dead yesterday, killing three people.

A curfew in Srinagar and other towns has been widely ignored and at least seven people were killed and many injured when security forces opened fire on stone-throwing.
