Wolverhampton South West Liberal Democrats long-listed for Party award
Ahead of the national Liberal Democrat Conference (12-17 September), the local Wolverhampton South West Liberal Democrats have been long-listed for the Penhaligon Award for membership.
The trophy is awarded annually at Autumn Federal Conference, last year it was won by South East Cornwall Liberal Democrats. The criteria for winning the award are much wider than just membership numbers and covers the period since the 2005 General Election.
The following will be considered when deciding the winner of the trophy:
Membership numbers since the 2005 General Election
Retention rates
Communications with members
Members' events including social, political, fund-raising…
Involving your members
Twelve local parties have been long-listed and the final four short-listed local parties will be asked to give a presentation at Federal Conference on Sunday 14 September.
Local Party Chair Colin Ross said "This is yet another recognition of the Liberal Democrats in Wolverhampton South West, earlier this year we won a regional membership award and last year won the Albert Ingham Award for best campaign in the country for the campaign in Park Ward. It is an honour to be long-listed for the Penhaligon Award, named in honour of David Penhaligon one of the greatest Liberal MPs."
