David Jack selected for Stoke-on-Trent North10.03.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Sat 4th Oct 2008 Stoke-on-Trent North Liberal Democrats have selected David Jack was selected to be their candidate for the next General Election. David, formerly from Wolverhampton and now living in Scholar Green, Cheshire and working for Wolverhampton based company Tarmac is an experienced campaigner whom has stood for both council in Wolverhampton and Parliament at the last general election in Wolverhampton. He is also the former chair of the Local Wolverhampton Party and was instrumental in the defection of high profile councillors in early 2002 from both the Tories and Labour in Wolverhampton to the Liberal Democrats. On his selection David said "We have seen failure after failure in the political world march out in front of the cameras, but none of them have any substance to offer the people of Stoke or Britain. Its time for a fresh direction in politics, the Liberal democrats are the only party in tune with the needs, aims and ambitions of the people and it is my hope to increase the representation in Parliament of true Liberal Democracy." David's selection complements the earlier selection of John Redfern in Stoke-on-Trent Central, Stoke-on-Trent South will be selecting their candidate soon. The Liberal Democrats are looking to build on their successes at the local level in Stoke-on-Trent and send at least one Liberal Democrat MP to Parliament at the General Election.
