McCain wins Missouri and Democrats win Senate seat in Alaska

Missouri has finally been declared, for McCain. McCain won by just 3,632 votes.

The Democrats have won the Senate race in Alaska after a recount, this saves the Republicans from throwing Stevens out following his recent convictions but also means there is no obvious next step for Palin.

Over in Minnesota the recount for the senate seat is continuing but Democrat Al Franken is closing the gap, it is now just 174 votes and still a lot of ballots to check.
