Happy New Year and I´m in Potosi‏

4.00.00pm GMT Fri 3rd Jan 2003

Well Christmas came and went, it was spent in Cucso, Boxing Day was effectively written off for everyone and we just sat around our open fire watching films.

We then left Cusco for Puno where we spent the night before heading out on to Lake Titicaca, we firstly went to some Reed Islands of the Uros people which were really good and very impressive.

Then onto another Island and spent the night with a local family and did some traditional dancing, the next day back to Puno where I ate fried Guinnea Pig.

From Puno I bade farewell to Peru and entered Bolivia. First stop was the Twanaku ruins before getting to La Paz (the highest capital in the Worlds apparently 4,200ft).La Paz was where I spent New Year, went to a club called Mongos which was really good.

I am now in Potosi which is an old Silver Mining City, I was supposed to go down the Mines today but there is transport workers strike so cant go anywhere... Hopefully tomorrow and then we are off to Uyuini to see the world famous Salt Flats and then onto Argentina and Chile (we hop in and out of them).
